Los Angeles is More

Day 7 - The End

I’m sitting in the Salt Lake City airport, waiting to be whisked away to L.A.  (I love free internet!!)  I wish I could have stayed until Sunday with Josh, but I have to start a job this week.  But now that I’m leaving, I’m excited to return home.. The cold was pretty exhausting, along with the hustle of movie-going.  One week of 20 degree weather is my pathetic limit, I suppose.  I’m feeling the “midnight movie/staying up late afterward/getting up at  7am” comatose haze, although you’d think by now it’d be old hat.  I’ll sleep on the plane for sure.

I had a lovely trip— the best vacation in weeks! Ha. For this amazing experience I’d like to thank:

1. Josh

2. ASCAP

3. my bad-ass footwear.

4. my family, for Southwest gift cards xmas presents!

5. and tumblr, for giving me something to do in the space between films.

The highlights?  Hanging out with Melissa and Marc, getting to know Josh’s assistant Evan a little better, the fireplace in our cabin, spying Parker Posey at Blind Dog, talking to strangers about films, snow showers, needing flannel sheets, this cute guy:

and the screeners Evan brought to watch at the cabin. (During all this festival madness, I also took in “The Men Who Stare at Goats”, “This Is It”, and part of “Bad Lieutenant”—for our on-going investigation.)

I saw 11 festival movies in 4 days.  My favorites were “Frozen”, “HIGH School”, “Casino Jack and the United States of Money”, and “Buried”.  There were so many films I wish I could have seen.. and I just now realized I left my guide book at the theater last night!  I hope Josh brings his back, that way I can seek out the films I missed.

I hope I come back next year!  And maybe one day with a project of mine own..
